Reference to %dns address% keyword for ShakeCast notification

The DNS name “localhost” (or “i386_Base” for AWS user) was populated into the server table by default and was mapped to the keyword “DNS_ADDRESS.” For notification purpose, users sometimes find it easier to edit the template file to reflect to the address they want to present. Also ShakeCast doesn’t allow program execution in notification templates.

To change the DNS name of your ShakeCast server system-wide with the database update, you can utilize the admin “General Settings” page for the task. Under “3. ShakeMap Server”, you enter server id 1000, the AWS public IP as DNS address, and uncheck the query box before hitting the “Update” button. I attach a screenshot to show you what it looks like.
